I am sure everyone wants to achieve more results with less effort. It is also a consensus that public data available on the internet, when combined with internally generated data, can help achieve this goal. So, the question is:
How to transform this data into more assertive decisions?
At this point, we notice a lot of misinformation due to the lack of a practical framework applied to government and institutional relations that explains how to transform this data into decisions. That is why, here at Sigalei, we developed a pragmatic and simple framework that we call “Management by Objects”, which we will explore in this and the next editions of #SigaDica!
STARTING FROM THE BEGINNING - CORE LOGIC
Our “Management by Objects” framework is based on an abstract entity that we call objects, which take on specific meanings within their context. Objects can be:
- Stakeholders
- Bills
- Regulations
- Products your organization markets
- Manufacturing plants
- Lawsuits
- Administrative processes in SEI
- Among others
Therefore, having defined the concept of object, the central idea underlying the “Management by Objects” framework is:
👉 Given a specific objective, what are the objects you need to move to achieve the expected results?
As an analogy, it is like a game of chess. From a very clear definition of what it means to win the “game”, you move your pieces, or in other words, your objects.
FUNDAMENTAL PILLARS - THE MACROPROCESSES
To operationalize the “Management by Objects” framework, you need to consistently execute the five macroprocesses described below:
- Acting with stakeholders
- Put into practice what was defined in the strategy and execute the planned actions with the “Stakeholder” type objects.
- Strategy
- In light of a specific objective, define the objects you want to move, performing simulations and scenario testing until reaching a plan that makes the objects behave as closely as possible to what is desired.
- Analysis
- Analyze the movement of objects and trigger communications to your team members or other people interested in the objectives you are pursuing.
- Governance or Management
- Create an information structure to format data so that it makes sense for your context, going through the following substeps:some text
- Define what types of objects you will manage within a strategy
- Define what the qualifiers are for each of the object types
- Enrich these objects with collected data, to:some text
- Update the object qualifiers
- Insert, merge, or remove objects from the network
- Create an information structure to format data so that it makes sense for your context, going through the following substeps:some text
- Data Collection
- Collect public and private data, manually or automatically, and enrich the objects.
FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
You probably have several questions about the details of the operation of each of the steps. Take it easy, we will detail them in the coming weeks. But, just as a brief spoiler, we will teach you how to transform this data into KPIs that will always be ready and functional for you!
See you in the next #SigaDica!
